Submission Update

We are no longer able to accommodate bands that are traveling more than a one hour radius from Blacksburg. We still encourage you to attend the festival and turn in an application to perform at our festival next year. However, we are still taking requests from local bands and bands that are within an hour’s radius from Blacksburg.

We will also continue to take submissions for our film, art and poetry portion of the festival.

Welcome back from the holidays and winter break!

We here at Fever to Sing have been overwhelmed with festival work during the holidays and we’re doing our best to get out first festival off the ground. We’ve confirmed with a number of bands such as The Bastards of Fate, The Andalusians, Hermit Thrushes, Outputmessage, The Caribbean, Dream Cop, The Situationist and more! We’re very thrilled to have also confirmed with a growing number of downtown Blacksburg venues, which will be announced once our final festival schedule is out.

However, to pull all of this off, we’ll need ample amounts of money. We need your donations, we need sponsors, so if you’re interested in sponsoring a band or donating money, send us an e-mail and let us know that you’re interested!

Remember, March 26th-28th is the weekend you should have your schedule cleared for our festival. It would be pointeless to have anything else scheduled, really.

WOW

We officially have interest from too many bands right now, it’s overwhelming. You can still e-mail us about playing, but it’s more competitive than ever now. We are taking requests until January 25th now because the lineup will need to be finalized soon after.

We are also still taking in submissions for art, you’ll need to submit a digital portfolio of your work via e-mail. As far as workshops go, if you’re interested in setting one up, we’ll need a few sentences describing what the workshop is about, names of instructor(s), a list of supplies you might need and what kind of space you’re looking for.

Again, any official submissions need to be submitted to our e-mail address. Anything else will not be considered official.

We here at Fever to Sing are officially excited about this festival!

Come perform at our spring festival!

Our music festival is tentatively scheduled for the weekend of March 26th-28th. If you are interested in exhibiting your art, performing with your band, performing a play or screening your short film, please send us an e-mail with your group name, contact info, location and a brief description of what you would like to perform. We also need to know if you need any equipment and/or if you’re willing to let us borrow equipment for the duration of the festival, which would be promptly returned to you after the festival is over.

Festival name is still pending, suggestions are welcome.

Performance requests will not be taken after January 30th.

Updates

Our recent meetings have been quite productive, despite the poor attendance.  We are working hard towards our goals, but we’ll need YOUR help in the coming months and beyond to accomplish them.

-We need committed volunteers to help in the planning process and other areas of the spring music festival!

-We also need people to help with bake sales and/or buy a few cupcakes!  We are also selling HOT pizza along with baked goods now =]

-We will be sending out a survey soon (and posting it on this website) concerning the festival and it is important that we get feedback so that the wants and needs of the community are considered in the planning of this festival. There will also be a section for volunteers to supply their information so that we can organize the committees for various aspects of the festival.  We need everyone from graphics designers to sustainability advisors!

-We are also in the process of booking several shows, so stay tuned for updates!  Our next show is at Champs, Thursday Nov. 12th, featuring Many Arms and SchnAAk (here from Germany!) and local acts.  Please come out, BRING YOUR FRIENDS, and dance for just $5!
